- For reaction to the name change, see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4532081.stm
- According to a report on BBC television's Newsnight programme this evening (12 May 2005), the government has bowed to the force of ridicule and abandoned the new name... -- Picapica 22:26, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

A disambigation page of Department of Trade and Industry was created since there is also a Phillipenes DTI. I have moved the disambig to Department of Trade and Industry (disambiguation) since 99% of links to Department of Trade and Industry are for the UK version. [edit] Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform
I have reverted the redirect to the new Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform page, as I think it is important to retain the separate identity of the DTI as it existed up to 2007. Instead I have linked to the new page, and have changed the tense of the page to the past. There are of course many links to this page, but I am guessing that many of them will remain historically accurate to point to this page rather than the new one. Welsh 15:34, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
