Talk:Department of Conservation (New Zealand)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm interested in walking the glacier . i understand you can stay in one of the department huts for little money , Whats the deal, ? Bob Turner ,Boston
- Which glacier? There are some huts available cheap but it depends on many factors. You should contact the department directly to find out more details. The web site is http://www.doc.govt.nz -- FP <talk><edits> 04:36, May 9, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Source tag
Alan per your request: I placed the tag because the sources are not readily identified (footnotes would be cool), and passages such as, "...was believed to have killed DOC worker Mark Kearney. At the exact time of the eruption, Mr Kearney is thought to have been taking temperature measurements of the lake as part of a programme for monitoring volcanic activity." are a bit less definitive than is typical on Wikipedia. Also, "Many people in New Zealand criticised the government for the department's situation..." offers no sources. How many people, who were they, are there news articles that reference this critiism, etc. I hope you don't take this as me being overly-critical, but the article has promise and I'd just like to see it be improved and properly sourced. Cheers. •Jim62sch• 11:31, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:DOClogo.gif
Image:DOClogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
