Dennis Pozniak

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dennis Pozniak (born May 10, 1981) is a published photographer[1] and freelance web designer residing in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. Pozniak is most notable for the Bert is Evil mirror website he ran between 1998-2001. The website was shut down in 2001 in the month following the 9/11 attacks. The cause for the shut down was a photochopped image, originally posted to his site in 1998, of the Sesame Street Muppet 'Bert' posing in a picture with Osama bin Laden that was later photographed at a pro-bin Laden protest rally in Bangladesh. Pozniak was subsequently bombarded with international media requests[2] and became a local "celebrity" for several days.

Currently his only mainstream project is a small Edmonton photoblog called SeeShare.com, which he maintains in his spare time. He also currently runs a small Hemp Store in North Edmonton called Bogart's Pipes & Papers.
