In 2006 Karl and Laurence started jamming and practicing with the intention of starting a band, they started writing originals by July 2007 they had 13 originals and the time came for them to start finding the right musicians to help their line up.

So they sought the classified ads at the Rock Shop website and only one advertisement stood out, and that was Ramz's ad. They called Ramz to see whether he was still interested in forming a band and sure enough he was, yet Karl and Laurence were skeptical of his bass playing abilities. So they invited him to try out and jam with them, and as soon as he plugged his bass and amp, Ramz started shredding and playing a Mozart piece called Rondo Alla Turca (March of the Turks).

From that moment on Karl and Laurence knew they have stumbled upon a legend in the making and now with the help of the new comer the trio have decided on a name for the band 'Demonstate'.

The name for the band has been chosen, the songs written were semi-perfected but there was something lacking, which was the vocals. After much search and plenty of advertisements trying to entice someone to try out for the band, the trio found no luck.

So Karl decided to have a crack at being the vocals and try out his vocals a P.A system was needed, so Ramz contacted Chris (a friend and past band member) and asked him if Demonstate could use his P.A for a practice session. Surely enough Chris agreed to drop off his P.A and while Chris was at Demonstate practice he was handed Karl's guitar during one of many cigarette breaks. Chris started playing the first things that came to his mind, which were just random riffs he was coming up with. Karl and Laurence were impressed by his style of playing, and from that practice onwards Chris was in Demonstate
