Explanation of replacing Black with an alternate geographic adjective. Arabs historically used descriptors such as black for pigmentation, and not racial classification. As such, many of the unmixed populations would easily be confused here.

[edit] life expectancy

The life expectancy is given as 62, yet only 2.7% made it to 65? Is this because of rapidly improving conditions? Somalia has a greater percentage over 65 but the life expectancy is 48. Potatoswatter 03:36, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] erased paragraph on (lack of) nomads

This paragraph was erased, but a quick Google on "yemeni nomad" turned up a contrary trend -- that nomads are indeed only historical.

Unlike other people of the Arabian Peninsula who have historically been nomads or semi-nomads, Yemenis are almost entirely sedentary and live in small villages and towns scattered throughout the highlands and coastal regions.

Can someone with more knowledge make a citation one way or the other? Potatoswatter (talk) 23:00, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
