Demra is located at 23.7083° N 90.4417° E . It has 102757 units of house hold and total area 47.35 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Demra has a population of 521160. Males constitute are 56.42% of the population, and females 43.58%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 290981. Demra has an average literacy rate of 52.3% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
