DemandTec (NASDAQDMAN) is a publicly traded company that provides pricing, promotion, and demand optimization solutions for retailers and consumer product (CP) manufacturers. They deliver their products as a Software as a Service (SaaS).

DemandTec is headquartered in San Carlos, California, with regional offices in London (covering the UK), Paris (covering Europe), and Tokyo (covering Japan). Other offices are located in Pleasanton, California.

DemandTec acquired TradePoint Solutions in November 2006.[2] In August 2007, the company priced its initial public offering at $11 per share[3].

DemandTec counts leading retailers and consumer products manufacturers as customers. The total annual revenue of retailers using DemandTec exceeds $600 Billion and that more than 100 consumer products manufacturers use DemandTec applications. [4]

Retailers using DemandTec include Advance Auto Parts, Almacenes Exito SA, B&Q, Best Buy, Big Y, Bloom, Brookshire’s, Casino Supermarche, Circle K, Food Lion, Geant, GIANT, Giant Eagle, Grupo Pão de Açucar, Hannaford, H-E-B Grocery, Longs Drugs, Monoprix, Office Depot, Penn Traffic, Piggly Wiggly, Radio Shack, Safeway and Wal-Mart.[5]

Consumer products companies using DemandTec include Campbell’s, Cargill, Challenge Butter, Coca Cola Enterprises, Dannon, Del Monte Foods, Heinz, Johnson & Johnson, Land O Lakes, Ocean Spray, Pepperidge Farm, Philip Morris USA, Ready Pac, Revlon, RJ Reynolds, SC Johnson, Snyders Tyson and Wyeth.[6]
