[edit] Category:Webby Awards
This category was indeed deleted today, and I consider it a bad deletion that ought to be reversed. However, to spare the drama, I have instead created a new article in list form of the award winners, as the nominator suggested. The information is highly encyclopedic and it is a shame that this kind of stuff gets deleted without due consideration. It belongs in the encyclopedia one way or another. If the list format turns out to be better we will keep it as a list; otherwise I will nominate the list for review or simply re-create it with due explanation of why it is encyclopedic (which would make it ineligible for WP:CSD#G4) -- Wikidemo (talk) 18:45, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Why is this on the talk page? ~ trialsanderrors (talk) 13:59, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Because it is talk about a deletion review discussion, not a deletion review discussion. I nominated this category for deletion review and left a placeholder reason, intending to get back to it. Someone deleted my nomination, pointing out that it was incomplete and (incorrectly) asserting that there did not appear to have been a deletion of that category. Thus, my explanation.Wikidemo (talk) 16:11, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- It was a quite correct assertion. Rossami was right. That category page has never existed to be deleted, and there has never been a CFD discussion of that category. The "logs" and "links" links in your very own nomination would have told you this. Uncle G (talk) 15:41, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Interesting. I wonder what this is. I would have corrected the category name if I had followed through with the deletion review. I'll probably just reinstate the category at some point with appropriate references rather than going through a deletion review.Wikidemo (talk) 18:05, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
