[edit] License tagging for Image:Clarksville-TN-downtown.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Clarksville-TN-downtown.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:04, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image licensing
Please do not upload images to Wikipedia unless you are sure they are under a free license (such as GFDL or CCby) or in the public domain. Saying that they are "considered in the public domain" is not adequate. You must have proof that all rights to the images have been relinquished. In the case of Image:Clarksville-TN-downtown.jpg, for example, the licensing states:
"The photographs available on this site are provided free of charge for editorial and promotional use only. Commercial use is strictly prohibited. The photographs are not for use by private individuals. Permission to use photographs for any purpose other than editorial must be obtained in writing."
Unfortunately, those licensing terms are not accceptable for Wikipedia. Kaldari 18:51, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Formatting
Also, be careful not to add unneccessary whitespace between sections and paragraphs. You may want to refer to the Wikipedia Manual of Style for more guidance on how to properly format Wikipedia content. Kaldari 19:14, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] SOS save our Japanophiles !!
|
|
Hi! :) i'm the maker of the Japanophile userbox. I'm contacting you to warn you that our fancy userbox is in danger. Someone has decided to delete it and to replace it by a category "Wikipedians interested in Japan" wich is not the same thing as Japanophile. A Japanohile is fond of Japanese stuff not only "interested in Japan". An userbox named interested in Japan is not as hot as a one with "Japanophile" right? Well you can support the "Japanophile category" by posting a "Keep" comment on the Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 August 16. The quicker the better, as the more we are to support it, the bigger the chance we still have is. (everyone can vote, not only those who have the userbox). Thanks. Cliché Online 01:04, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
p.s.: in order to find the thread more easily once in the Deletion Vote article, just press & hold Ctrl and press F (Find) on your keyboard to display the Search screen, then type Japanophile and you're in! ;) Cliché Online 01:41, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fellow Clarksvillian
Hello, Delvici. I do appreciate the additions you've made to the Clarksville article, however it seems that the information on all the schools in the city aren't really necessary. I had already placed a link to the school system before. In addition, we should try to keep the article within reasonable limits. The list of famous residents might even need another article, though Wikipedia might try to delete it per notability issues. It's not quite List of Portlanders. -- Riffsyphon1024 16:19, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
