- 1807 - Governor Nathaniel Mitchell of Laurel called for the General Assembly to restrict ownership of property by African Americans.
- 1813 - A turnpike from New Castle to Frenchtown, Maryland was completed to Hare's Corner on what is today Route 13.
- 1863 - State Senator Gove Saulsbury's joint legislative committee met in Dover to investigate the intrusion of Federal troops at the polls in Delaware during the previous election held November 4th.
