It shows the location from which the Kumudini ferry boat left for the island of Naina Tivu
The jetty is renamed as Kumuthini jetty in remembrance of the victims of the boat massacre
As we don't have a picture of the massacre victims or the boat itself it is the next best picture to illustrate the event.
It is a historic picture that shows th effect of civil war on civilians
