Dell monitors
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dell sells LCD-based and CRT-based computer monitors. Dell bundles monitors with its lower-end desktop computers and with higher-end computers as package deals, as well as selling them separately through their online store. They also sell televisions, which can function as monitors, and monitors from other manufactures, such as NEC and Viewsonic.

[edit] LCD monitors
Many of the Dell monitors have been reviewed by hardware reviewers in their own right. When the 2405FPW 24" screen was launched it received a lot of press attention for being much cheaper than comparable models from Apple and Samsung.[1][2]

[edit] Service menus
Certain Dell monitors have a hidden service menu, which may only be accessed with a special procedure. Please be warned that changing the service menu items is generally not a good idea.
The general procedure for monitors manufactured in 2005 or earlier is as follows [e.g. 2005FPW]:
- Press and hold the "AUTO" & "+" button (some models use "ENTER" and "+" button), then power on the monitor.
- Once the monitor is on, press the "MENU" button to open the osd menu.
- Now, in the osd menu, go to "factory reset" and you can see at the bottom of menu have an extra menu item named "FACTORY".
- Go to that "FACTORY" selection and press the "ENTER" button.
- You are now in the Dell service menu.
The general procedure for monitors manufactured after 2005 is as follows [e.g. 2007FPW]:
- Press and hold the "AUTO" & "+" button (some models use "ENTER" and "+" button), then power on the monitor. Keep holding all three buttons until the monitor is fully on.
- After the monitor is on, release the buttons and press the "-" button.
