The template you added is great, but there is another article for Deir el-Balah camp (I created it after noticing that this page focused on the town itself). Should we just merge that one into here? Or move the template over there? Thoughts? Tiamut 01:35, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

It depends on how integrated the city is with the refugee camp. It looks like they are relatively segregated but I don't really know for sure. I'll move the template for now and update the template and the refugee camp list page. --Abnn 02:20, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
There is some logic to trying to combine the two articles into one, thus the one article has more "meat" or "substance." Also it lets people reading about the town not to overlook the refugee camp and its history. One article of higher quality is better than two of smaller ones, especially since they have basically the same name. --Abnn 02:24, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Then let's do it. Do you want to handle it or should I? Tiamut 02:25, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Oops, before I read your response I cleaned up the linkages between the two articles. I'm good either way, and for the immediate future I'm going to finish up placing the template on the relevant articles. --Abnn 02:33, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
I would also support a merge. We can always split it later if enough high-quality material about the refugee camp is added. TewfikTalk 02:45, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Among the approximately 700 localities listed by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, even they [[1]] do not report Deir el-Balah camp as a locality separate from Deir el-Balah in their population counts during the period 10- 24/12/1997. -Doright 19:48, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

I've reeavluated my position on merger. After doing more research and expanding the Deir al-Balah camp article, it seems that each merits its own article. They have different origins and histories and are notable enough in their own rights to stand on their own. Both could still benefit though from expansion. Tiamut 22:41, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
