"Deep Throat" was the second episode of the first season of The X-Files science-fiction television series created by Chris Carter. It dealt with government conspiracy and extraterrestrial existence. The episode introduces the only frequently-recurring character from the show's first season other than regulars Mulder and Scully, the titular Deep Throat.

Mulder and Scully travel to Idaho in order to investigate the disappearance of a military test pilot. They observe unusual aircraft activity, prompting Mulder to proclaim the existence of a government conspiracy. Mulder acquires an informant, who is later referred to as Deep Throat.
