What can I help you with? Anthonycfc 20:08, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Hello, I'm trying to edit a page that has a list of categories with internal links. When I try to add a category, everything I write comes out on top of the category list. How do I get into this article to add another arts venue?
- Go to the article and type "". Hope this helps --Anthonycfc 20:14, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm a very new (and not tech-savvy) editor - where do I type "" ??--Debjohnson 20:18, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Anthony, this is the page I'm trying to get into for editing (adding a venue)
Pages in category "Wisconsin arts venues" There are 6 pages in this section of this category.
A Al Ringling Theater B Broadway Theatre Center M Marcus Center O Overture Center U University Square Theatres W Weidner Center
I want to add an H along with the name of another venue, plus a link to a further discussion of the venue. How do I do it? --Debjohnson 20:22, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, then add to that article. Shyam (T/C) 20:30, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Adoption
Hello, Debjohnson! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia!
Also, I've noticed that you've been having some problems understanding the process of creating a new article and getting it added to a category. I'd be happy to help you with that to. What you need to do is create a new article (by following this link to create a new article, and then inputting the desired text: Heyde Center for the Arts) and then add the line Category:Wisconsin arts venues to the bottom of that article. That'll automatically create an entry in that category for the article you made. Any other questions, let me know! --Maelwys 20:52, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- Since you haven't been on for a couple days, I've gone ahead and moved your article to the appropriate spot for you. Now if you click on the article name above you'll find your text, in it's very own article. And clicking on the category name above will show you that it's now got an entry listed in the category. If you'd like to talk about exactly what I did, how you can do the same thing for your future articles, and how categories work, let me know and I'll be happy to walk you through it. --Maelwys 12:15, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adoption Template Removed
Hi there Debjohnson
I have removed the Adoptme template from your user page, as you have been contacted by an adopter and have not been active on Wikipedia since. This has been done to help to decrease the load at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user.
If you feel that none of the users that have contacted you so far meet your needs, then please add back the Adoptme template. Also feel free to contact me - Cheers Lethaniol 14:49, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
