Deborah Copaken Kogan

Deborah Copaken Kogan (born 1966) is a Jewish, American photojournalist and author.
She was born Deborah Copaken in Adelphi, Maryland and moved to Potomac, Maryland four years later. Kogan attended Harvard University, and worked as a photographer in Zimbabwe, Zurich, Afghanistan, and other places. In 1993, she married Russian Jewish immigrant Pavel Kogan, and worked for ABC and NBC during the next several years.
Kogan has written a book about her life and work entitled Shutterbabe: Adventures in Love and War. It was first published in 2000. At one point, writer Darren Star had been adopting the book into a Hollywood film.[1]
Kogan's son, Jacob Kogan, is an actor who played the title role in the 2007 film Joshua.
