[edit] Other
There is a small power plant currently run by Worcester Energy in Deblois. Originally designed for the clean burning of peat; ultimately this proved unfeasible as when the fuel was added to the boilers the effect was similar to pouring mud in a furnace. Wood chips and scrap are now used as the primary fuel.
The plant has a theoretical capacity of 25.85 megawatts from two turbogenerators and three boilers. Due to the large distance of the plant from fuel sources, population centers, etc. and the initial problems of the peat fuel, the plant has been started and retired a number of times. A recent attempt to restart the plant on wood chips began in April 2005 under the name of the Worcester Energy Company. The controlling percent of the plant's stock changed hands in 2006 and is now controlled by Prospect Capital Corporation under the name of Worcester Energy Partners Inc. The plant has run steady since then with only planned shutdown's to prepare for the temperature changes. The Plant currently has a fairly decent supply or fuel from local logging companies.
