Moved from the article: There need to be some Disambiguating here differentiating the Ace of Spades as the Death Card vs. the Tarot Death Card. Some history of the Ace of Spades as the Death Card would be helpful as well.

Article is now at Death (Tarot card), and the Ace of spades article covers what was here much more thoroughly, so I got rid of the Ace of Spades content. --168.12.253.82 18:51, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

Is the part about the beltway sniper really necessary here? That should be covered under his own entry, and I would propose putting it at the end of this article, at least... Airosche 03:01, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Interesting point. I am hesitant to remove content that was there when I got here. hm. Now that I think of it, moving it to the end does make sense; putting it front and center does make it look more important to the article than it really is. Good thought. I'll take care of it. I know, it is a massive problem with the Major Arcana pages. Like in all the other articles I have removed the "Examples" section since it was entirely Original Research which Wikipedia does not allow. I left the "mythopoeteic interpretation" section because that may have come from a reputable source but it seems to be something based on personal interpretation like the "Examples" section. - DNewhall

The article is just personal opinions from occult enthusiasts about the nature and meaning of a particular tarot card. No peer reviewed books or journal articles are cited. No references or footnotes are given. When a new statement is added, the source needs to be cited, and the source needs to be verifiable, and reliable. The sources listed are largely just in reference to death in general and not to the history or evolution of the card. Waite is not a reliable source on the history or development of tarot cards. His opinion can be cited however. For instance: "Waite's opinion, in his book Pictorial Key to the Tarot is that... etc."

The card in question has a history of over 500 years in European card games in which it is used as trump card (see Tarocchi). The article is unbalanced in that it only features the recent uses of the card for divination. This makes the article biased due to its recentism. Since the article ignores use of the card for game play in Europe and other parts of the world, it offers an anglo-american perspective that raises NPOV issues. There are academic sources and sources from international organizations discussing the history and evolution of the "Death" card as well as its use in games.
