Your photo is of the Panamint Valley, which is west of death valley... you can see the panamint dry lake just beyond the first ridge, and the panamint springs resort on the far valley floor near the bends in the road.. (i just compared it to an almost identical photo I took last week, but I was equipped with GPS and various maps:) It is technically death valley national park, but not the actual death valley, which is behind you from that perspective. --Kvuo 23:24, 19 September 2006 (UTC)


You could be right, but I seem to recall that photo being taken from Daylight Pass road driving west from Beatty, looking down into Death Valley with Stovepipe village in the distance. It was a few years ago and I don't rightly recall, but I believe there was a rest area at the bottom of the hill. Looking at a map of the area... it looks like those could be the sand dunes at the bottom of the valley and Tucki Mountain on the far left of the photo. --random66 15:30, February 6, 2007
