Deanna Demuzio is a Democratic member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 49th District since she was appointed in May 2004 after the untimely death of her husband, Senate Majority Leader Vince Demuzio.
Demuzio ran unopposed in November 2004 to keep the seat vacated by her husband for the rest of his term. In 2006 she defeated Republican Jeff Richey in the general election. She resides in Carlinville.
