Dead Fingers Talk was actually the name chosen by two bands. One, the American group, recorded an album of some repute entitled "Storm the Reality Studios". The British DFT were primarily a live band, touring in the 80's playing their own, original "Goth" style numbers.
There may well have been a US band called DFT, but it was the UK version who recorded the great "Storm the Reality Studios" (Pye UK 1978). The album was produced by Mick Ronson half of Hunter Ronson Band and David Bowie right hand man, who also came from Hull.
Band members were Bobo Phoenix : guitar and vocal, Jeff Parsons : lead guitar, Andy Linklater : bass, Tony Carter : drums
The sound owed much to the Velvet Underground though for whatever reason sent out on tour with the likes of Whitesnake who really weren't the right band for DFT to support.
Bobo later formed a band with Mike Rossi ex- Slaughter & The Dogs
Jeff Parsons is back in Hull still playing, he also had a stint looking after the first goth's Wasted Youth (British Band)
