De La Salle University-Manila is a private Catholic university located in Taft Avenue in the district of Malate in Manila. It was established on June 16, 1911 by the De La Salle Brothers in Paco, Manila. It was moved to its present location in 1921. It was a school exclusive for boys until 1973 when it opened its doors to women. The university draws inspiration from the life and the works of the institution's founding father, Saint John Baptist de La Salle. It offers programs in undergraduate and graduate levels covering various fields in business and economics, engineering, liberal arts, education and computer studies.
