Sir Day Hort Bosanquet was a much loved Govenor of South Australia. He is remembered for riding a white horse through Adelaide each morning. He was also an early supporter of motoring enabling him to travell widely throughout South Australia to meet its far flung inhabitants. During the miners strikes the men travelled from South Australias` Copper Triangle( Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta)to demonstrate outside Parliment House which is adjacent to Government House. Disturbed by the rabble Sir Day contacted the Police Commisioner and stated that if the police did not move the mob from the area he would call out the Navy and do it himself.
