Ryugi Experience
Wouldn't it be more insightful if a foreign "deshi"(i.e.non-Japanese) of the Jikishinkegeryu tradition(or any other Koryu tradition) commenting on experience within the system in Japan, gave the exact number of years actually done?Any menjo awarded would
be another guide as to how far the person may have progressed in the art.Traditionally speaking, only holders of Menkyoden may transmit the arts of Koryu systems (including Jikishinkage ryu) and open up their own Dojo!To reach the level to be able to be considered as a candidate for a Menkyoden requires consistent training over a very long period of time even for the Japanese themselves! For a foreigner to say that he/she teaches in his/her native country after only minimal experience in Japan,e.g.3,4,5 years, does not meet the strict demands of the Ryuha!Ahunpo (talk) 12:11, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
