[edit] Dave?
I have a sneaky suspicion concerning some of your postings, Daveonefourone. If you are who I think you are, I think I better give you a heads up.
Wikipedia has this thing about people writing articles about themselves. There's a couple of guidelines (Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:Autobiography, and a few others I can't recall right now) that might be some good reading. While you are 'notable' (a very flexible concept in regards to articles about people), playing around with your own article could be seen by some of the other contributors as a bad thing.
Feel free to play around with any of the articles, but it might be an idea to avoid the article on 'you' (if my suspicions are right). If you ever need any help with this concept or anything else on the Wikipedia, or would just like to inform me of how incorrect I am in my wild guess, come and talk to me on my personal talk page.
Either way, let me say "WELCOME TO THE WIKI!" -- Saberwyn - The Zoids Expansion Project 11:43, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thought so :P. Its not so much an issue of you writing it up, it's more along the lines that Wikipedia biographies have to be made up of information that is independantly verifiable. Your roles are confirmable, because your name appears in the credits. However, there may be the temptation to introduce personal information that is not "supported by external sources". The Wikipedia article should be about you as a voice actor, not you as "you".
- That's my main (pretty much only) concern. You're fine to keep an eye on the page, and tip us off when facts are wrong, but when adding stuff, we need to be able to confirm in a way that does not involve asking you (or someone close to you) directly.
- For writing up articles on people, its usually the fans. I put the initial tag in the Zoids: CC article, but didn't do up a page on you because (at the time) I knew nothing more than your roles in those two anime series. That's an article that wouldn't have lasted too long now. Now that someone with a lot more knowledge on the subject (obviously) has contributed to the article, it has become a good thing.
- As for the deletion notice, I've added my two cents to the deletion discussion (which will last five or so days), and at the moment, it looks like the article is going to stay right where it is.
- Another thing, when you leave a message for someone, finish it off by typing four of these ( ~ ) little mongrels. "~~~~" will become something like " -- Saberwyn - The Zoids Expansion Project 01:20, 14 January 2006 (UTC) "
- Love your work. Glad to have you aboard. Buzz me if you have any more questions about anything. -- Saberwyn - The Zoids Expansion Project 01:20, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] No worries
As long as you keep it to stuff that's externally verifiable, there shouldn't be a problem. Glad to be of assistance anyway. -- Saberwyn - The Zoids Expansion Project 23:09, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject Zoids... mobilise!
Daveonefourone, I'm giving the green light to the Zoids wikiproject. You expressed interest in supporting this wikiproject, either at the temporary project page set up in my userspace, or at the entry in the "List of proposed Wikiprojects".
I am now informing you that the project page has been moved to Wikipedia:WikiProject Zoids, and would like you to have a look at it sometime in the next few days. While you're there, please make a note on the talk page of the kind of work you feel you would be best at performing.
Thanks in advance for your effort! -- Saberwyn - The Zoids Expansion Project 22:05, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
