David Valk was born in New York City May 31, 1949, attended West Orange High School (NJ), Miami of Ohio, and New School for Social Research in NYC. Parents: Alfred James Valk, Regina Valk, Sister: Stella Valk

After school, David Valk started The Circle, a natural foods restaurant and food co-op in Oxford, Ohio. In 1979, he worked for Mottel Distributors in Linden, NJ. In 1983, he established Valk Enterprises, a natural foods brokerage company which is operating today.
