I have a BA in English with a minor in Spanish. My interests include the humanities in general, but especially the areas of history, religion (especially patristic literature, eastern and western), language, anthropology, music and art. I claim no especial expertize in these subjects; however, would like to be free to edit where necessary and where I find that a topic of interest to me (and perhaps others) has not been addressed in the wiki community and to discuss with editors where I may disagree with something that I have read.

I have made an edit in the "spanish profanities" section, adding the term "panocha" which in my experience has usually been used in reference to a woman's genitalia (equivalent to "pussy") throughout the southwestern US, but in Mexico and other countries it depends upon the context within which this word is used. After making the edit, I discovered that the article was "disputed". This being my first entry, I am not familiar as yet with the proper protocol, so please excuse me for adding something without taking it to the "talk" page first.
