I might use too many acronyms. I'm sorry. If you see one of these in an edit summary or a talk page discussion, it means the following. (Something not listed? Ask on this page's talk page.)

I offer this for your convenience:

[edit] A Quick Reference to David's Acronyms

  1. AGF: verb. "Assume Good Faith." A request to follow one of Wikipedia's greatest commands. "Hey, buddy, remember to AGF."
  2. ce: verb. "CopyEdit." Fix spelling, grammar, or punctuation in an article. "That page needed a ce. I took care of it."
  3. db: noun. "Delete Because." This refers to the Wikipedia Criteria for Speedy Deletion; it means that the article wasn't up to Wikipedia's standards. "I added the db tag to that article. It was nonsense."
  4. nn: adjective. "Non-Notable." If it isn't notable, it shouldn't be included. Importance and Notability are NOT the same thing , but non-notable information cannot be accepted. "Sorry, but Billybob Joeblow is someone only you have heard of. He's nn."
  5. NPOV: noun. "Neutral Point Of View"; a key tenet on Wikipedia. Usually used in reference to breaking said rule. "Saying that Doctor Who is the best TV show around, though accurate, violates NPOV." Usually used with a wikilink.
  6. OR: noun. "Original Research"; strictly prohibited on Wikipedia. "Saying that Harry Potter is a homosexual is OR." Also usually used with a wikilink.
  7. prod: verb. "PROposed Deletion." If something doesn't meet the criteria for speedy deletion, but still isn't a good fit for Wikipedia, it'll be put through this process. "I prodded that article."
  8. rl: noun. "RedLink." A wikilink that targets a nonexistent page and is, therefore, red. "I removed a few rls."
  9. rm: verb. "ReMove." I took something out of the article. "I'm going to rm that passage, because it violates copyright."
  10. rv, or rvv: verb. "ReVert" or "ReVert Vandalism." Rolled back to a previous edit, possibly because I felt the edit was vandalism. My apologies if I was wrong. "I'm going to rv the move from Jesus to Jesus Christ." or "I had to rvv on the page."
  11. rw: verb. "ReWrite," or "ReWord." I rewrote a passage or changed the wording of a section to make it flow better. "I'll rw the lead sentence to make it sound better."
  12. sp: noun. "Spelling." I fixed a spelling mistake. Often my own. "Article needed a sp fix."
  13. WTH: adjective or adverb. "What The Heck (or Hell, if it's really bad)." - describes complete flummoxing. Usually refers to me. "I had a WTH moment when I read that."
  14. wl: noun. "WikiLink." An internal link to another Wikimedia page. It looks like this. "I fixed the wl in that article; it didn't link to anything."
