No direct evidence, but Hawthorn finished second in the 1976 VFL season, and David O'Halloran played 25 games in 1976 by David O'Halloran's statistics from AFL Tables . The maximum number of finals under the McIntyre final five system from second on the ladder is three, and there are 22 rounds in the a season.
