Can David Berg get categorized in category:spiritual mediums? Andries 11:59, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
Well, what's unique in his movement is that all followers are encouraged to be mediums, not just the leaders or elders. And in many cases the current revelations seem to take precedence over the past revelations. "The times they are a'changin'." Any other comments?--Kibbitzer 18:53, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

===Comment about this statement: Only 2% of pedophiles are successfully prosecuted in the United States, according to Justice statistics. The fact that David Berg eluded arrest and prosecution for his molestation of minors is hardly remarkable or proof of innocence. Evidence of Berg's pedophilia, particularly his molestation of Davida Kelley, can be found in his writings.
The daughter Deborah had no problem with either her Dad nor The Family until David Berg dethroned her and her husband from their leadership in Latin America---because of the gross abuses the perpetrated upon what they treated like subjects of a fiefdom. And they left because David Berg had rebuked her for her lover "Isaiah", the real true child abuser, who (for example) threw an infant into a pool and watched it sink, cackling like a stereotypical witch while others jumped in to save the poor kid. For this they left The Family and "wrote" the book.
===Comment about this statement: Discrediting Deborah and her husband as child abusers does not negate evidence of Berg's perpetration on his daughters as children. Faith Berg is on record in Family publications regarding her father's fondling of her genitals as a child. Although she did not characterize this sexual contact as inappropriate or abusive, Faith Berg's refusal to interpret the father/daughter sexual contact as abusive does not mean it wasn't a violation of laws that prohibit adults from fondling the genitals of children. Berg taught that his anointing as God's End Time prophet dispensed him and his followers of any moral obligation to observe "mere man made laws" concerning childhood sexual development and socialization.
==> Note: not a current Family member in any way shape or form, no longer a member because it is a demanding an rigorous life and not suited to everyone, because it takes making your body "a living sacrifice". I am a former member myself, and have made corrections to blatant factual errors and tendentious wording (somewhat) to the text. And so what? Is someone a trustworthy source for hating the Family?
===Comment: I am also a former Family member, and I do not hate The Family. I do, however, understand Berg's written statements regarding his personal sexual activities with children to mean he engaged in pedophilia. I also view allegations of pedophlia by six different women over a period of 20+ years to be fairly substantial evidence of a documented behavior pattern.
Allegations of child abuse, without including the many instances around the world of abusive raids against the Family in which ALL the children were declared healthy and free from such abuse.

You cannot say the same about the members who have been expelled and left because they wanted to abuse.
===Comment about this statement: The Family does not report the activities of excommunicated pedophiles to law enforcement authorities. The Family may expel egregious violators of rules it adopted in the early 1990s, but it makes no effort to protect the public by reporting criminal activity by expelled members to the proper authorities.
You cannot claim to be neutral and allowing deprecative text like that without a balance to it and perspective. Or allowing the two opposing viewpoints.
====Comment: The arguments that Berg's defenders use to refute allegations and documentary evidence of his pedophilia do not stand up to scruitiny. The only people who cannot objectively evaluate the allegations and evidence of Berg's pedophilia are the same people who think Berg got it right when he predicted the Second Coming in 1993, but God inexplicably changed His mind at the 11th hour and rescheduled to a later, currently unknown date.

Who drew all the "comics" in his Mo Letters -- was it Berg himself? If so, when and how did he learn to draw comics? "depictions of Rodriguez (aka "Davidito") with adult caretakers " - this is not understandable by British audiences, what are 'caretakers' in this context? A 'caretaker' in Britain looks after the boiler room in a block of flats, whereas a 'carer' wipes a disabled person's nose.
