so why is the guy responsible for revolutionizing the way anti-death penalty advocates operate over the internet, whose organization generates tens of thousands of google hits, being deleted from having a short bio, explaining his accomplishments ?

  • In all fairness Dave, this is hardly a short bio. You've thrown random information on here in a way that makes it difficult for anyone to determine your notability. Although (as I've stated below) I think the article asserts notability, between the state of the article and the fact that you posted it yourself, it's not hard to see why someone would think this is just one of 100 other vanity articles which are posted everyday. [edit] Assertion of Notability

This page is an absolute mess (a link to his wedding album?) and it's certainly vanity, but I think it does make an assertion of notability. From what I can tell, Canadian Coalition Against The Death Penalty appears to be a notable organization. Between his founding that organization, and the claims of significant media coverage, I think it's worth at least taking this article to AfD before deleting. ScottW 23:04, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Avoid writing articles about yourself

Self-promotion. The arbitration committee ruled on February 17, 2006 that: "Editors should avoid contributing to articles about themselves, their direct family or subjects in which they are personally involved, as it is difficult to maintain NPOV while doing so."

It woud be a good idea to get someone else to write this article and also provide some independent references to make it more worthy to be kept. Johnmarkh 23:15, 29 April 2006 (UTC) Sorry for diving in with objections. It would be a good idea to lookat some of the Wiki guideleines to help see what articles are helpful, rgds Johnmarkh 23:25, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notability?

I am not sure how much going on a few cable news networks that usually spend their time promoting Natalee Hollowayesque stories assert notability. From the media file on television appearences of this person it begins by stating that "it is basically a coalition of two" the person and his wife. So how is a two member organization notable? I put an afd tag on it originally but then seeing this talk page decided to remove it and see how this talk page discussion plays. out.--Jersey Devil 03:31, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
