[edit] It was Burckhard, NOT Foster

A clarification: It was Aaron Burckhard who insulted the cop during a DWI arrest (in Kurt Cobain's car)---not Dave Foster. Michael Azerrad detailed this story in Come As You Are, when Burckhard called the cop a "fucking nigger" during the incident.

The "final straw" incident that got Foster kicked out of the band, according to Charles Cross in Heavier than Heaven, was when Foster assaulted the son of the mayor of Cosmopolis, Washington (detailed on p.108 in HtH). He lost his license and spent two weeks in jail as a result of this incident, and his resulting legal troubles gave Kurt and Krist Novoselic an excuse to finally fire him.--Pinko1977 04:30, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
