[edit] Fair use rationale for David Hicks
This logo qualifies for fair use because:
- It is an historically significant document of an Australian man's time spent in terrorist training
- The photo is only used to convey information regarding the subject in question, for educational purposes, and its use here does not infringe on the copyright owner's ability to commercialize it
- It is not possible to make a free alternative as the original photographer is a terrorist who is either in hiding or deceased and a newer replacement would not convey the same information (the subjects first day in Terrorist training).
- The photo is of low resolution and not suitable for commercial reproduction
- It is used in Wikipedia only for educational purposes and is not used for profit
- Its use on Wikipedia is not expected to decrease the value of the copyright to its holder
