David Young (NC politician)

David Wallace Young (born Nov. 11, 1959, in Greensboro, North Carolina) is a North Carolina politician, businessman and candidate for North Carolina State Treasurer in 2008. On May 6, 2008, Young lost the Democratic primary for Treasurer to Janet Cowell.

Young is a county commissioner in Buncombe County and is the current president of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners. [1]

Since 2005, he has served on the University of North Carolina system board of governors.
