David Sumberg

David Anthony Gerald Sumberg (born June 2, 1941 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire) is a British politician, and Member of the European Parliament for the North West England region for the Conservative Party. He was first elected to the European Parliament in 1999.
Sumberg was previously the Member of Parliament for Bury South, from 1983 to 1997, and is a former Manchester City Councillor.
He is married to Carolyn and has two grown up children, Jonathan and Katie.
He has attracted much criticism by local members of other political parties due to his low attendance and political inactivity. Since the 2004 European elections he has co-signed just one question and made just one speech in the European Parliament. [1]
