David Pratt (Canadian broadcaster)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David Pratt is a Canadian sports radio personality and columnist.

With Don Taylor, he co-hosts the weekday afternoon talk show Pratt and Taylor on CKST AM ("The TEAM 1040") in Vancouver, British Columbia. A portion of the show is simulcast live on cable television channel Rogers Sportsnet Pacific. A trademark segment of Pratt and Taylor is Pratt's Rant, heard daily at 4:00 PM Pacific Time, when Pratt riffs on a current issue in sports or sports-related politics. His leather pants and perpetual bachelordom are frequently recurring sources of light banter on the show. Pratt did write a column in the Vancouver Province, which was published every Tuesday.

Pratt had a running feud with Vancouver Canucks general manager Brian Burke that often found its way on to the show. [1]

A 30-year veteran of sports media, Pratt was formerly a correspondent and host of Last Call at sports cable channel TSN, and worked at Vancouver radio stations CKLG, CFUN, CHRX, CKWX and CFOX, as well as CFJC in Kamloops and CJAV in Port Alberni (where he began his broadcasting career as a DJ in 1974).

People seem to hate Pratt. Once on his own show, Pratt and Taylor, the poll question of the day was "Which sportscaster do you hate the most?", and he, himself, came in first. This is quite in contrast to the ever-popular Don Taylor, with whom he co-hosts the show.

Pratt is single and has a reputation as a ladies man around the Vancouver nightlife, a fact that Don Taylor frequently refers to on the air.

On June 3rd 2008,it was revealed by a reader that a recent sports column of Pratt's in the Vancouver Province contained two plagiarized lines from another columnist. He was subsequently released from his position with the Province. http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/sports/story.html?id=286b6c31-3113-4577-bcb2-902b8b20626d
