David McCreery (b. September 16, 1957, Belfast, Northern Ireland) was a Northern Ireland football player. He played mostly in midfield but was very versatile, and during his career played in every position bar goalkeeper. Appeared in the World Cup finals of 1982 and 1986.
McCreery started his career with Manchester United, where he was the un-used substitute as they won the 1977 FA Cup. After scoring eight goals for the club, he transferred to Queens Park Rangers in 1979.
In 1982, he was transferred to Newcastle United, before shorter spells at Heart of Midlothian and Hartlepool United in the late 1980s. He would later briefly manage Carlisle United and Hartlepool.
After this helped set up the MLS in America and also became European Consultant for Boca Juniors.
