David Heavener (born December 22, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky) is an American singer/songwriter/director/actor/composer/producer/writer. Once dubbed the "action-star of the 90s,"^{[citation needed]} Heavener continues to act and direct in action and suspense movies.

One of his most talked-about films is Kill Crazy (1990), where he plays a Vietnam vet, Alexander Grady Puckett, who takes part in an insane asylum's camping trip gone haywire. Indeed, after several onerous encounters with neo-Nazi environmentalists, Puckett is obliged to reevaluate his experiences in the Vietnam War, thus causing him to reach a level of kill-craziness hitherto unavailable to him. This ability allows him to defeat the Neo-Nazi environmentalists, led by Michael (played by Burt Ward).

Notorious among his edgier scenes, this auteur once submitted his own buttocks to onscreen shaving with a bowie knife by another character. This appeared in Angel Blade, which he wrote, produced, directed and starred in. The film also featured Margot Kidder in a small role.

Of late, Heavener has been working on a science-fiction film entitled Costa Chica.
