Della Rocco is a friend of Boondock Saints writer and director Troy Duffy (the two have been close friends since childhood), and his role in that movie was written specifically for him. He played the part of a lowlife in the mob who helps his two friends, the McManus brothers, in ridding Boston of criminals and evil. Della Rocco brought many of his real-life mannerisms and flair to the character, making an impression on fans and living up to the character's nickname, "The Funnyman."
More recently, he was credited in the (as of 2006) upcoming film Seasons of Dust with Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth.[1]
In a June 2006 interview, Troy Duffy stated that Rocco would return in the upcoming Boondock Saints sequel.
