From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David Clark Company, Inc. is an American manufacturer, best known for aviation headsets with boom microphones for use in military aviation, commercial aviation, and professional communication in high-noise environments. Their distinctive, sage green colored headphones are often seen being worn by aviators.

Located in Worcester, Massachusetts, the company was founded in 1935. It started in the textile business with the development of unique knitted materials for specialty undergarments and over time evolved to making products that protect people and save lives.

Continuing in its textile expertise since 1941, David Clark Company pioneered air and space crew protective equipment design, development and manufacture, with products ranging from anti-G suits to space suits. They provided pressure suits to the Bell X-1 and North American X-15 programs, as well as for Lockheed U-2 and SR-71 pilots, and NASA's Project Gemini and the Space Shuttle program. Their most recent contribution is the Shuttle Advanced Crew Escape Suit.
