David Brown-Dedham (Massachusetts)

David Brown (1740 – 1812) of Dedham, Massachusetts was convicted of sedition because of his criticism of the United States federal government. Petitions for clemency were ignored by President John Adams and Brown remained behind bars until granted a pardon by Thomas Jefferson.
