David Bacon (missionary)

David Bacon was a missionary and was born in Woodstock, Connecticut, in 1771. He died in Hartford, Connecticut, on August 27, 1817. He was primarily a missionary serving the Ojibbewa Native Americans in the territory of Michigan. He later found the Christian town at Tallmadge, Ohio. His biography was published in the "Sketch of the Rev. David Bacon," by Rev. Leonard Bacon. His son Leonard was also a clergyman, born in Detroit, Mich., 19 February 1802; died in New Haven, Connecticut, 24 December 1881. He was graduated at Yale in 1820, and studied theology at Andover.[1]
