Dave Hansen (born December 18, 1947) is a Democratic member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 30th District since 1991.

Hansen was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1971 and married his wife, Jane, in the same year. They have three children.

Before being elected to public office, he was a truck driver for the City of Green Bay as well as a school teacher[1]

Hansen served on the Board of Supervisors for Brown County from 1996 to 2002. In November 2000, he was elected to the state senate and was re-elected in 2004.

Hansen has served as the Assistant Democratic Minority Leader for the Wisconsin State Senate since 2003.

Senator Hansen is up for re-election in 2008. He will face a tough race to hold his seat for the Democrats who hold an 18-15 majority in the State Senate. Two of the three assembly districts in the 30th Senate District are under the control of Republicans, and the third has only been a Democratic district since 2006.
