Talk:Data theft
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One cannot steal data.. Theft is about taking away property, not about copying or taking away data..
It can be considered a service theft then. The data is being hijacked by unauthorized users for their own ends.
- I think that the first user is correct - theft generally requires an intention to deprive the owner of the ability to use it. However, I think that "data theft" is the name that people would use for the activities described on this page, so I think the title should stay even if it is a slight misnomer. 216.36.186.2 (talk) 20:13, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Commercial links
Just for the record, the links I added to this article were merged from this version of Thumbsucking, prior to it becoming a redirect. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thumbsucking. I was not responsible for the inclusion of these links originally. – Tivedshambo (talk) 22:44, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
