Darren William Moore (Born December 5, 1982 in Midland, Ontario, Canada) Darren Moore is a portrait artist and musician.


[edit] Early Life

He grew up in the small town of Port Mcnicoll, Ontario. He attended Port McNicoll Public School. At a young age discovered his was different then most kids with having a Horror movie collection which he started in grade 2 and also started his wrestling video collection in grade 2 as well. Now has extreme loves for both Pro-Wrestling & Horror Movies. Like most kids also had a love for video games which died down around grade 8 when he stopped playing video games so much & took up a different passion in weight lifting. Around grade 4 discovered he could draw. Which got him in his interest in Comic Books its also when he started he's collection of Marvel comics, Action Figures, Marvel Cards & Movies based on Marvel comics. He's love for music came much later in life around grade 8 when he was given his first CD Player for Christmas. Then in grade 8 for a Battle of the Bands at the Port Mcnicoll Public School signed up and Actually headlined the show which he did a cover of King Nothing from Metallica. He's Band was unnamed but was made up of Vocals Darren Moore, Lead Guitarist Danny Rogers & Rythem Guitarist Charlie Summerville, Bassist David Dandy & Drummer Jay Stanich

Darren attended Midland Secondary School as a teenager and graduated in 2003. In Grade 9, Darren discovered his love for portrait drawing & weight lifting. Being that he was very small and teased often, Darren used weight lifting as a mode to build his confidence. He decided to indulge in various martial arts practices, in which he was self-taught, as well as ground wrestling styles of fighting, which can be viewed as both positive and negative. Positive due to the increase in confidence levels, negative because it caused him to abuse his fighting ability. This lead Darren into a deep depression while simulatenously fighting off anger spells. His depression stage caused him to lose many friends who would've been useful in such a tough personal experience. After numerous suicide attemps, one that put him in a psychiatric ward at a local hospital for a month, Darren began to spiral downward as he drank chemicals which crystalized and destroyed his liver. His liver is no longer able to pump alcohol properly.

Darren decided it was time to indulge in something that could potentially break his depressive state, something liberating, guitar. He started playing guitar in Grade 10, when he signed up for a music class at a local high school. Having never owned his own guitar for the class, he wasn't expecting to stick with practicing. Soon Darren discovered he was quite musically inclined, and bought his first guitar, a Squier '51.

In 2000 Darren moved to Sauble Beach Ontario, to live with his Uncle Ivan. This only lasted a short time, as he gradually became quite lonely with the lack of companions around.

In Grade 10, Darren sold a painting he composed of Eric Clapton to a local art museum, which was then pursued and purchased by an art collector. Darren began to claim his natural art form, he realised that he was more of a pencil artist, working with white & grey tones mainly. By late 2001, he was offered to compose 3 paintings of natural scenic displays around town. This posed to be quite a challenge for Darren, as he never attempted to create a painting based on scenery before. Once completed, all three paintings took him 7 weeks to produce, making a profit of $300/painting. This was Darren's first true taste of artistic success and glory.

Darren started working as a yard maintence guy for his father off summers only. He also started teaching a Photo Realism Portrait drawing class anually March to June from 2003 - 2006. Also was in a band (Endorphin Injection) for a very short time was lead Vocals & lead guitarist but artistically differances caused him to quit.
