[edit] To Do

Need to establish exactly what d'instrumenti da fiato means.

"Strumenti a fiàto" (mod. it.) means "wind instruments"

Also need to get a hold of the original Selfridge-Field paper.

[edit] Dates

The Library of Congress has flourish dates of 1621-1644. They tend to do pretty in-depth research to establish identity and lifespans. I wonder if we should think about changing the dates to reflect years of activity. I will try to do some more research and get back to you all about this. User:FeanorStar7

There's an article that was published with the intriguing title Dario Castello: A Non-Existent Biography, by Eleanor Selfridge-Field, published in 1972 in Music & Letters - requires JSTOR access (stable JSTOR url) (or a good library visit, or reading from a terminal on a participating campus while logged in, etc.) to read, which I have at this time- a rapid perusal is very interesting... author has gone through the accounts of the places Castello is supposed to have played etc. - I have to read this at more leisure and summarize this indeed. I don't know if this represents current post-1972 scholarship etc. though. Schissel | Sound the Note! 16:21, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

(ah, "The original Selfridge-Field paper". That's what you meant. Well, that's the URL if you have a campus netID etc.- they've scanned it in.)
