Darren Sutherland is an amateur boxer who will fight at the 2008 Olympics representing Ireland.
Sutherland won the national title in 2006 and 2007. At thwe World Championships 2007 he was upset by Alfonso Blanco (boxer) who finished second. He is the third ranked European boxer in the Middleweight weight class He lost at the first qualifier to southpaw James DeGale 22:23 but qualified by winning a gold medal as the second Olympic qualifier for Europe.In the final he stopped Jean Mickael Raymond.
