[edit] Education

Darren attended the Berklee College of Music in 1999 and graduated in 2003 with a degree in performance. Even though Berklee does not provide many—if any—classes specifically based on the metal genre, Darren still learned a lot from his private instructors (in particular, Mike Mangini, Larry Finn, and Rod Morgenstein). "Berklee took me to that next level and that new way of thinking... ...I went into Berklee a drummer and came out a musician. I feel, musically, I can tackle anything and know how to go about the right way."[1]
