Darren Barr (born 17 March 1985 in Glasgow) is a Scottish professional footaller currently playing for Scottish Premier League club Falkirk. He is also team captain.

Barr, a defender, previously had a loan spell with Forfar Athletic during season 2005-06. He won his first personal award for the month of December 2006, when he was crowned the SPL Young Player of the Month. In April 2008 he earned the SPL's Player of the Month award.[1]

Many Falkirk fans believe Barr to be a future Scotland full international, and he received his first call up to the 'B' Squad in February 2007, playing in a 2-2 draw with Finland. [2]

Barr's poor discipline has also caused him problems, and in the 2007-2008 season, he was sent off twice. The first in a game marred by four red cards against Hibernian after punching the ball on the ground[3] and the second coming against Celtic after he received a second yellow card. [4]

He also received a red card against Hearts in season 2006-07, for squaring up to Hearts' Andrius Velicka, but the card was upheld, and Barr was instead credited with a yellow card. [5]
