Darren Bagert

Darren Bagert is a successful producer, focusing primarily on Broadway and West End theater.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana he is a graduate of The New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA)[1] and the Florida State University-School of Theatre.

Darren is a two-time Tony Award[2], Drama Desk[3], and Outer Critics Circle Award[4] winning producer. He recently produced the Tony Award winning musical Company[5] by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth on Broadway and he was Executive Producer for television on the production televised on PBS/Great Performances[6]. Darren produced the highly-acclaimed Tony Award nominated production of Sweeney Todd by Stephen Sondheim starring Patti LuPone and Michael Cerveris, directed by John Doyle and currently touring North America[7].

His producing work on Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night starring Vanessa Redgrave, Brian Dennehy, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robert Sean Leonard, directed by Robert Falls won him a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. Darren was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play with Frozen[8] by Bryony Lavery starring Swoosie Kurtz, Brian O’Byrne and Laila Robins, directed by Doug Hughes. He was a Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award winner for Gore Vidal's The Best Man starring Charles Durning, Chris Noth, Spalding Gray, Elizabeth Ashley, Michael Learned and Christine Ebersole, directed by Ethan McSweeney. He helped Macaulay Culkin make his New York stage debut in Richard Nelson's Madame Melville opposite Joely Richardson. Darren enjoyed working with Matthew Broderick, Parker Posey, Joyce Van Patten and Jerry Adler in the production of Taller Than a Dwarf[9] by Elaine May, directed by Alan Arkin.

He is a member of the League of American Theatres and Producers (The Broadway League)[10] and is also a member of The Player's Club[11].

Darren currently resides in New York City.
